"Hello, I'm April Hallock and I am the K-8 art studio facilitator and art education instructor at Waits River Valley School in East Corinth, VT. I began Teaching for Artistic Behavior (TAB) in 2013 and haven't looked back! Our 230 young artists are so passionate about art and art-making; the structure of TAB allows for scholars to learn habits of mind to become independent artists and creators of their own expressive images. Our art show usually has around 700 unique works of art on display. It's pretty incredible. I also incorporate some tech design in our art program and this year the art show will include student-made objects etched and cut on our new laser cutter and even more 3D work printed by our 3D printer. As you know, it's a lot of work to be an art educator, but everyday I thank the universe that I am able to be in the presence of so many creative minds."
