Hands-On Acrylic Workshop for Art Teachers

April 17, Tuesday, 10-3 p.m.

In the morning, we’ll learn how acrylics can be used as grounds for other media, such as watercolor or colored pencil; get key information on color mixing, blending and controlling drying time; and see how gels can be used to modify paint properties or create unique textural surfaces. From traditional to contemporary to mixed media, acrylics are infinitely versatile. In the afternoon, we’ll be creating one-of- a-kind prints with the new slower drying Golden OPEN acrylics.  We’ll experiment with several ways to make unique, richly layered prints using stencils and brushes. You will learn to make beautiful, one-of- a-kind prints on paper or fabric and experiment with color mixing and creating exciting textural effects.

Artists of all levels will come away from this workshop with fresh new insights to feed their creative expression.
All participants will receive free product samples and a literature packet, including hand-painted color charts.
Space is limited to 14 participants so register today!

This workshop is presented by painter and GOLDEN Certified Working Artist, Adria Arch. Adria is trained to demonstrate how to use GOLDEN’s line of products. Her work is included in the collections of the Boston Public Library, the DeCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, and Fidelity Corporation, among others.
